Visit the beautiful selection of sandy beaches from the North and South shores of Clew Bay and down the coast south of the Bay to where the isolated strand of Thallabawn meets Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord. Plus many of the beaches are EC Blue Flag winners.

Back on dry land, climb Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s holy mountain with the starkly beautiful National Famine Memorial at its foot. Visit Knock Shrine, scene of an miraculous apparition in 1879 and charming Cong, forever associated with Hollywood and The Quiet Man.

Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park is an extraordinary mixture of history, culture and fun all in one and is a major attraction.  In addition to Westport House, this beautiful 480 acre estate has a family-friendly Pirate Adventure Park and Adventure Activity Centre.

Westport Golf Club has played host to the 2002 Smurfit Irish P.G.A. Championship, and is a magnificent 18 hole parkland course with breath taking views of Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay.

Horse Riding and Pony Trekking is on offer all year round at Drumindoo Stud. Clay pigeon shooting, sea angling, hill walking, sailing and adventure sports are among the many other activities on offer to the visitor.

Sea Angling: Boats may be hired by groups or individuals that leave the harbour daily, bound for the rich fishing grounds in the Bay, where a variety of fish offer excellent sport. . For a modest license fee, a day or a week's fishing may be had.

For the Water Sport enthusiasts, Saoirse na Mara offers a wide range of specialist kayaking coaching courses. For more of a journey they also offer Island Hopping and Coastal Tours.
