Cycling in Westport

Westport is quickly becoming one of the most sought after destinations in Ireland for Cycling Holidays. With a range of routes and scenery unique to the West of Ireland, Westport really is a cyclist’s dream. Mountain Biking is also possible with the Croagh Patrick ascent being one of the most challenging on the country. The descent is also somewhat of a challenge with a lot of Zig Zaging required.

The recent opening of the Westport to Achill cycle way has created 42Km of uninterrupted cycling heaven with the breath taking views over the Atlantic Coast visible for most of the journey. The Cycle way was created in what used to be the old Western Railway line. As well as this designated cycle route there are a plethora of scenic yet challenging routes around Westport.

The Carlton Atlantic Coast has a strong history of facilitating cycling groups for the past 10 years and we will try to facilitate all your cycling and leisure needs where possible.

Bicycle Hire
We have a range of Bike’s in-house that are available for guests but should you require a specialist bike the Clew Bay Cycle Hire Company provide hotel guests with preferable rates for cycle hire.

Bicycle Storage
We can provide Storage for up to 30 bikes in our secure basement store and also storage for extra bikes is available outside in our secure car park.
